Since 1888 AAUW has funded women’s graduate education, investing in women who go on to change the world. By 2013, AAUW had awarded nearly $100 million in fellowships, grants and awards to more than 12,000 women from over 130 countries. Fellowships and grants are awarded in six categories. In the 2013-14 year alone AAUW gave out $3.7 million. Over the past 125 years AAUW branches have worked to raise funds to support this worthy and valuable program by holding fundraisers of many kinds.
